SEND Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Role

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a caring, inclusive school in the Tonbridge area. The role starts in September and is an ongoing, long‑term position supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You will help students access the curriculum, build confidence and thrive in a safe, structured environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
- Assist students in accessing learning materials and classroom activities.
- Promote a calm, structured and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop personalised strategies.
- Monitor progress and report observations to senior staff.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH, ASD or ADHD.
- Calm, patient and resilient nature.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
- Genuine passion for inclusive education.
