About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary special school in Southcote, Reading. You will work with pupils who have social, mental and health needs and trauma‑related backgrounds, helping them feel safe and succeed.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with SMH needs and trauma‑related backgrounds in daily classroom activities.
- Create and maintain a safe, consistent, and engaging learning environment.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children to promote wellbeing and learning.
- Assist pupils in regulating emotions, developing skills and achieving academic goals.
Required profile
- Genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive, close‑knit team.
- Good communication skills and empathy towards pupils and colleagues.
