SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist ASD Unit

About the role

A primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join its specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) unit. The role is full‑time and offers the chance to support autistic pupils in a well‑resourced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with autism, helping them access learning and develop life skills.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions.
• Assist in implementing clear structures and routines that benefit both staff and pupils.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and share best practices.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have ASD or additional needs, in a school or care setting.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable and passionate about supporting SEND learners.
