SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist School

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Milton Keynes. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, temporary contract with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will work directly with pupils aged 4–19 who have Autism Spectrum Condition and social communication challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with autism, encouraging independence and confidence.
• Assist class teachers with daily activities and deliver personalised learning plans.
• Support pupils in emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
• Respectfully help with personal care routines when required.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver holistic, wrap‑around support.

Required profile

• Experience in SEND, care, support work or an educational setting is desirable.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for youth development.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and able to communicate effectively.
• Team‑player who can adapt to the evolving needs of students.
