SEND Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Additional Needs

About the role
This full‑time, term‑time position supports pupils with additional needs in a welcoming Plymouth school. No prior teaching experience is required – the right attitude, patience and willingness to learn are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other SEND profiles.
- Build positive relationships and act as a trusted role model.
- Encourage engagement, resilience and independence in learning activities.
- Assist teachers in creating a positive classroom environment.
- Help pupils develop social and emotional skills.
Required profile
- Reliable, professional and calm under pressure.
- Patient, resilient and passionate about helping children succeed.
- Positive role model for young people.
Required skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
- Basic organisational skills for managing small‑group activities.
What we offer
- Daily rate of £95‑£100.
