SEND Teaching Assistant – Sussex Schools

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs in schools across Sussex. You will work closely with teachers, parents and allied professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons for students with SEN.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help pupils achieve their individual education plans.
- Monitor and record progress, reporting observations to senior staff.
- Help adapt classroom resources and environments to meet diverse needs.
- Collaborate with parents and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE, a degree or equivalent in SEN support or education.
- Compassionate, patient and adaptable attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork with teachers, parents and professionals.
