SEND Teaching Assistant – Wirral (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join primary and specialist settings across the Wirral peninsula. The role involves providing academic, social and emotional support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them thrive in a low‑stimulus, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored academic and emotional assistance to small groups or individual pupils with SEND.
• Support the class teacher in implementing strategies outlined in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Create a calm, low‑stimulus learning space to aid emotional regulation.
• Monitor pupil progress and relay observations to the teacher and SENCO.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or proven experience supporting special educational needs.
• Prior experience working with children or young adults with SEND (school, residential care, or youth work).
• Calm, patient demeanor with strong active‑listening and communication abilities.
