SEND Tutor – Part‑time, Flexible Hours

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate SEND Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for looked‑after children and students with EHCPs in Greenwich. The role is part‑time and flexible, allowing you to choose morning, noon or evening sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, adapting lessons to each learner’s ability and profile.
• Work with pupils who have a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
• Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that align with EHCPs or identified support needs.
• Use a calm, consistent, encouraging approach to build trust and foster engagement.
• Liaise with parents, carers and professionals to ensure coordinated support.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational or therapeutic setting.
• Strong understanding of SEND and experience teaching Functional Skills or core subjects (Maths or English).
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND categories such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
• Ability to design and deliver personalised lesson plans.
