SEND Tutor (with QTS) – Part‑time, £35 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a qualified SEND Tutor (with QTS) to provide specialist support to a young person with autism and SEMH needs in Bromley. This part‑time, flexible role offers 10 hours per week at a rate of £35 per hour, working primarily in the pupil’s home environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a differentiated curriculum across core subjects, focusing on maths and literacy.
• Build trust and emotional safety by attuning to the young person’s pace and preferences.
• Use positive, non‑directive methods to support learning and engagement.
• Identify and anticipate sensory and emotional triggers, offering flexible choices.
• Promote emotional regulation through calm, consistent presence.
• Provide feedback to parents and multidisciplinary teams.
• Accompany the young person to safe, familiar places that support wellbeing and learning.

Required profile

• Experience working with autistic children or complex SEN pupils.
• Ability to differentiate lessons based on individual needs.
• Willingness to travel to a home in Bromley.
• Compassionate, flexible, and able to maintain professional boundaries.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AAC, Makaton and PECS communication systems.
