Senior Account Handler

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Account Handler to join a fast‑growing insurance broker’s Commercial team in Cheltenham. The position offers full ownership of client relationships, combining account handling, business development and account management for mid‑corporate to corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts with premiums over £100,000.
• Develop new business opportunities and grow existing relationships.
• Coordinate placement of UK master policies for international risks where applicable.
• Collaborate with the Growth Team to generate leads and support technical delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in commercial insurance.
• Comfortable working with clients generating turnovers of £20m‑£500m.
• Certification CII required; Dip CII or higher preferred.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable and able to work with minimal supervision.
