Senior Accountancy Practice Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a friendly, growing independent accountancy practice in South Ashford. The role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, building long‑term relationships and taking ownership of bookkeeping and reporting tasks in a supportive, professional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
• Prepare and review bookkeeping records
• Produce and submit VAT returns
• Process management accounts where required
• Support clients with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
• Assist clients with bookkeeping queries and provide day‑to‑day support
• Liaise directly with clients to ensure deadlines are met

Required profile

• Proven experience as a practice bookkeeper in an accountancy environment
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills with clients
