Senior Accountant – Client Advisory

About the role

Butler Rose is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality compliance work and proactive advisory support. You will combine hands‑on technical accounting with commercial client engagement and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for a varied and complex client portfolio, managing workflow and meeting deadlines.
• Lead client meetings, respond to queries and produce clear action points and follow‑up notes.
• Provide commercial insight on turnover, margins, cash‑flow, efficiencies, cost savings and risk areas.
• Review accounts for accuracy and compliance, identifying areas for further analysis or stress testing.
• Prepare and review management accounts, forecasts and scenario‑based ‘what‑if’ analysis.
• Deliver advisory work such as business scorecards, valuations, systems reviews and process‑improvement recommendations.
• Delegate work to junior team members, review outputs and give constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Near‑qualified or fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting background across statutory accounts, management accounts, tax and advisory work.
• Experience reviewing accounts and providing commercial commentary.
• Proven client‑facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Commercially aware with excellent communication and organisational skills.
