Senior Accountant / Client Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Client Manager to join a leading accountancy firm serving clients across Huntingdon, Peterborough, Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role combines technical accounting work with proactive client relationship management, offering hybrid working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and finalise year‑end financial statements for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders.
• Compute and submit Corporation Tax returns.
• Complete Self‑Assessment tax returns for directors, business owners and partners.
• Provide value‑added tax efficiency and compliance advice to clients.
• Respond promptly to client queries via email, phone and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and support business growth.
• Assist in improving internal processes, systems and technology.
• Maintain client files and working papers in line with ICAEW guidelines.
• Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with the bookkeeping team on management accounts, budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with solid post‑qualification experience in practice.
• Part‑qualified candidates may be considered if they have extensive relevant experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
