Senior Accountant, Client Manager or Assistant Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant, Client Manager or Assistant Manager to join a well‑established independent practice in Hailsham. You will own a varied portfolio of SME clients, deliver high‑quality statutory accounts and provide trusted advisory and tax support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients across multiple industries, building long‑term relationships.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Work closely with tax specialists to handle corporation tax, personal tax and other compliance matters.
• Provide bookkeeping assistance and support clients with accounting software queries.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice quality standards.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, nearly qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience in client‑facing accounting roles within an SME environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, autonomous approach.
