Senior Accountant (Croydon)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Croydon. This full‑time position offers the chance to manage a diverse client portfolio while working within a supportive, forward‑thinking team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for SMEs and limited companies.
• Produce management accounts and detailed financial reports.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and tax computations.
• Liaise directly with clients, delivering proactive support and clear communication.
• Support junior staff by answering technical queries and guiding their development.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and meet all filing deadlines.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified (or part‑qualified with strong practice experience).
• Solid experience in an accountancy practice with strong technical knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organised and confident in client‑facing situations.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
