Senior Accountant – Herne Bay

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a lovely, relaxed independent accountancy practice based in Herne Bay. This is a varied general practice position where you will manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Completing bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Managing a varied portfolio of owner‑managed business clients
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
• Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate

Required profile

• Experience working within an accountancy practice
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part qualified, or qualified by experience
• Strong understanding of accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping and VAT
• Confident communicating directly with clients
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Enjoy working within a friendly, collaborative environment
