Senior Accountant

About the role

We are an established accountancy practice in the Bury area looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our supportive team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, handling a range of accounting and tax responsibilities while contributing to the practice’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Manage business and personal tax compliance.
• Deliver VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts.
• Provide tax planning advice and support practice development.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years recent UK practice experience (essential).
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to challenge constructively.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high standards.
• Positive attitude, flexibility and a good sense of humour.
• Professional qualifications such as AAT, ACCA, ACA are welcomed, though practical experience is equally valued.
