Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑known business in Leeds. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial information and supporting key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Partner with various functions across the wider business to provide financial insight.
• Review and approve balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit local compliance work, including statutory accounts, VAT and tax periodic returns.
• Respond to ad‑hoc queries and analysis, prioritising timely responses.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
• Ensure compliance with Group policies and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
• Identify process gaps and propose continuous‑improvement measures.

Required profile

• Finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience producing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Proven ability to manage statutory reporting, VAT and tax returns.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to handle ad‑hoc queries.
