Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a family‑run Chartered Certified Accountants and Registered Auditors firm in South London, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its growing portfolio of business and individual clients. You will work on statutory and non‑statutory accounts, tax returns and provide expert financial advice.

Key responsibilities

• Create and prepare statutory company accounts in line with FRS 105, FRS 102 and FRS 102 1A.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end accounts and supporting schedules for timely reporting.
• Complete and file Corporation Tax Returns (CT600) ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC legislation.
• Investigate discrepancies, correct errors and ensure professional compliance standards.
• Prepare non‑statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and other entities.
• Assist with basic personal tax returns and inheritance tax matters.
• Provide detailed financial reporting and analysis to firm partners.
• Manage client queries and advise business owners on accounting and tax matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior accountant working with UK accounting standards.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 105, FRS 102 and FRS 102 1A.
• Ability to prepare and file Corporation Tax Returns (CT600).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Professional communication skills for client interaction.
