Senior Accountant – Remote (Wigan Head Office)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a modern, forward‑thinking practice. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, deliver high‑quality accounting and tax support, and help businesses transition to digital accounting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of practice clients
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and financial statements
• Prepare VAT returns and corporation tax computations
• Support clients using cloud‑based accounting systems such as Xero and QuickBooks
• Build strong client relationships and liaise with HMRC
• Review work and mentor junior team members
• Identify opportunities to improve client services and support business growth

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or part‑qualified) or qualified by experience
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Experience managing a client portfolio
• Strong knowledge of VAT and corporation tax
• Experience using Xero, QuickBooks or similar cloud accounting software
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Proactive, organised and client‑focused approach
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the wider team
