Senior Accountant – Year-End Accounts & Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Newton Abbot office. You will act as a key right‑hand support to managers and partners, handling year‑end accounts, tax compliance and a range of advisory services for diverse clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Manage personal and corporate tax compliance, including VAT returns.
• Oversee bookkeeping and broader accounting services.
• Develop client relationships and increase management responsibility.
• Mentor and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified or part/finalist in AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent, or extensive experience in accountancy practice.
• Proven experience at senior accountant level within a practice serving SMEs and larger organisations.
• Strong understanding of UK tax legislation and accounting standards.
