Senior Accounting Technician

About the role

The Senior Accounting Technician will provide day‑to‑day financial support for the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasting and reporting to budget managers across both capital and revenue streams. This temporary position offers a rate of £25 per hour on a PAYE basis and is based in Truro.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and forecasts.
• Monitor income, reserve levels and payment performance.
• Review budgets, ensure full cost recovery and support budget managers in understanding and updating budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis and meet regularly with budget managers.
• Prepare financial statements and assist the finance manager with statutory accounts.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• Organised individual with a strong interest in progressing a finance career.
• Experience in month‑end accounting processes and budget management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with budget managers and auditors.
