Senior Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on the outskirts of Kendel. This hybrid role (three days in the office) offers the chance to support the finance function by delivering accurate financial information and improving processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial reports.
• Investigate budget variances and support forecasting activities.
• Oversee day‑to‑day purchase ledger operations, ensuring accuracy and strong controls.
• Support payment runs and maintain supplier relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and drive efficiencies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant or Management Accounts Assistant.
• AAT qualification.
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, reconciliations, accruals and pre‑payments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
