Senior Accounts Officer – Newcastle

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our Newcastle office. You will act as the primary accounts function for a portfolio of corporate and personal clients, delivering year‑end accounts, management accounts, tax returns and related financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare draft accounts from client records, resolve review points and finalise accounts.
• Produce initial business and personal tax computations and coordinate tax filing schedules.
• Liaise with audit and tax teams, relationship managers and specialist staff to ensure deadlines are met.
• Engage directly with client staff on‑site, maintaining confidentiality and providing progress updates.
• Monitor time spent against budgets, flag overruns and complete all required documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in public practice as an Accounts Senior, Business Advisory Senior or Accounts Assistant.
• Qualified or near‑completion of AAT, CA, ACCA or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Strong IT aptitude with proven use of accounting software.

• Sage accounting software.
• Xero accounting software.
• QuickBooks accounting software.
