Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Causaly is building the world’s most advanced biomedical knowledge platform powered by a high‑precision Knowledge Graph and generative AI. As a Senior AI Engineer you will lead the design and delivery of AI solutions that help researchers discover and interpret scientific evidence quickly and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end ML/AI solutions, from data exploration to deployment and monitoring.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices such as modular code, testing, CI/CD and observability to ensure production‑ready AI systems.
• Select appropriate techniques—classical ML, NLP, LLM‑based or agentic approaches—balancing speed, cost, interpretability and performance.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to define success metrics and ship AI‑powered user features.
• Document architectures and decisions early to align teams and accelerate onboarding.
• Champion model and data quality through versioning, robust evaluation, bias assessment and performance tracking.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a high‑trust, high‑performance team culture.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience delivering AI/ML systems in production, covering data collection, modeling, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
• Proven ability to work in product‑focused teams, collaborating with designers, engineers and product managers.
• Strong communication skills for documenting and defending architectural decisions.
