Senior Analyst – Physical Precious Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to manage the settlement of physical precious metals, cash and metal transactions for a global financial services organisation. The role involves overseeing global shipping, delivery and margined client activities while ensuring compliance with operational procedures and risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage settlement of physical precious metals, cash and metal transactions, including global shipping and delivery.
• Support and administer structured financing transactions such as allocated, earmarked and pledge financing.
• Perform daily back‑office reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain depository records.
• Monitor depository limits, margin availability and risk exposures, escalating issues as needed.
• Provide high‑quality client service by interpreting requests, resolving trade queries and addressing operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with payment controls, risk management frameworks and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through system testing, process enhancements and problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Proven experience in physical commodity operations within a regulated financial services, banking or commodities environment.
• Understanding of London Precious Metals Clearing Limited (LPMCL) clearing processes and physical precious metals operations.
• Strong knowledge of precious metals markets, LBMA standards and international market dynamics.
• Good grasp of banking operations, financial products and the precious metals trading lifecycle.
• Familiarity with FCA regulations or equivalent, and risk management/control principles.
• Experience in vaulting operations is advantageous.
• Proficient IT skills with ability to use operational systems, analyse data and support process improvements.
