Senior Analytics Consultant

About the role

The Strategic Data & Analytics team at Howden builds the analytical products that support growth across Howden Employee Benefits. This role keeps the live products working and their users served, contributes to building the next ones, and owns how work moves through the team. It is a consulting team embedded in the business, not a software engineering or IT role, and is open-ended and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with consultants and client directors, who are both users and the route to the business
• Support live analytical products and their users: triage questions, requests and changes, resolve what you can and schedule the rest
• Own the delivery process: backlog management in Azure DevOps, change and release discipline, and the governance and approval process
• Maintain the documentation, records and evidence needed for governance, reporting and assurance
• Contribute to new products and to reusable components, libraries and templates
• Contribute to the team's internal delivery and deployment platform

Required profile

• Consulting mindset, enjoying a wide variety of problems and helping colleagues and leaders make better decisions with data, analytics and visualisation
• Reliable, thorough and able to finish things; comfortable with uncertainty and speed
• Effective in a distributed team, collaborating mostly over Teams
• Able to build without AI coding agents, reading, writing, debugging and explaining code yourself
• Experience of analytical or data work that others relied on, supporting users and maintaining documentation and delivery records
• Employee Benefits, Pensions or Insurance experience is not required
