Senior Application Developer (Python/Django/React)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Application Developer to join e.surv Chartered Surveyors, the UK’s leading residential surveyor. The role involves designing, building and maintaining web‑based applications that support our nationwide property risk and surveying services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Python/Django and ReactJS applications.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, including performance tuning, indexing and security audits.
• Implement OWASP security standards across all code.
• Create and manage backup mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
• Document code, maintain application documentation and support released software.
• Follow change and release management processes and ISO‑9001 quality guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing Python/Django web applications.
• Proven ability to work with ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and query optimisation.
• Understanding of web security, session management and OWASP framework.
• Experience with Docker and, optionally, Swift.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and share knowledge with the team.
