Senior Architect – Energy Nuclear Projects

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join its Energy Unit within the Nuclear, Civil, and Defence division. The role will be based in Altrincham or Glasgow and focuses on delivering technology‑driven projects for the nuclear energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on bids, proposals, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Coordinate design, detailing, BIM, and project management activities on high‑profile nuclear projects.
• Lead large‑scale projects from concept through planning submission, construction, and completion.
• Collaborate with clients, specialists, and UK‑wide teams to deliver innovative, technically excellent solutions.

Required profile

• Creative, detail‑oriented architect with extensive post‑qualification experience in highly regulated industries.
• Proven ability to lead large projects from inception to delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Post‑Part 3 qualified architect, ARB‑registered and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
