Senior Associate – Behavioural Economics (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Behavioural Insights and Policy Lab at the FCA is seeking a Senior Associate to apply behavioural science to policy development, primarily within the pensions sector. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to generate evidence that shapes regulatory decisions and improves consumer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply behavioural science research, analysis and practical tools to support policy across financial services.
• Design, implement and evaluate behavioural interventions and experimental studies.
• Translate complex behavioural insights into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Manage multiple workstreams, delivering high‑quality outputs to deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Provide behavioural science guidance, advice and training to colleagues.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists and policy specialists to address complex challenges.
• Contribute directly to improving consumer outcomes and shaping regulatory approaches.

Required profile

• Proven experience in behavioural science research and analysis.
• Ability to design and evaluate behavioural interventions and experimental research.
• Strong written communication skills for translating insights into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
