Senior Associate / Counsel - Derivatives Practice

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright is recruiting a Senior Associate or Counsel for its Capital Markets practice in London, specifically within the derivatives practice. The role involves working on complex, high-profile transactions while taking significant responsibility for client relationships, matter management and the development of junior lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted adviser to clients on complex derivatives structures and associated regulatory issues
• Lead transaction teams and support the strategic growth of the practice
• Manage client relationships and matters, and supervise junior lawyers
• Support business development and the growth of client relationships

Required profile

• Solicitor qualified in England & Wales (candidates with experience from other jurisdictions may also be considered)
• Experience at a top-tier UK, US or international law firm focused on derivatives and structured finance
• Strong academic background with a solid understanding of derivatives products and financial markets
• Track record of leading complex transactions and managing client relationships
• Confident supervising junior lawyers and contributing to the wider practice

Required skills

• Deep expertise in ISDA documentation, collateral arrangements, structured derivatives and related regulatory frameworks
• Excellent technical, drafting and negotiation skills
• Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
