Senior Associate – Global Macro Strategy

About the role

Citi is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Global Macro Strategy team in London. The role supports senior members by analysing financial market and economic data, generating thematic trade ideas for macro‑oriented investors, and contributing to the firm’s monthly asset allocation process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct top‑down macro analysis across rates, FX, equities, credit and commodities for developed and emerging markets.
• Back‑test trading and investment strategies and build macro leading indicators.
• Develop macro fair‑value models and incorporate academic research into the macro space.
• Collaborate with teams in New York, Asia and Citi’s asset‑class specialists.
• Assist internal and external client inquiries and produce weekly publications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in top‑down macro analysis and working with financial market data.
• Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines and produce high‑quality research.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Self‑starter attitude with a collaborative team mindset.
