Senior Associate – Large Loss Lawyer

About the role

Keoghs LLP is seeking a Senior Associate to join its specialist Complex Injury team in Lostock. You will work on high‑value, multi‑track personal injury claims, including catastrophic cases, and collaborate closely with lead lawyers and sophisticated insurer clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex injury claims ranging from £100k to £500k.
• Support the Lead Lawyer on catastrophic claims exceeding £1 million.
• Advise insurer clients on liability, quantum, indemnity and litigation strategy.
• Draft pleadings, defences and counter‑schedules for multi‑track matters.
• Conduct forensic analysis of medical and liability evidence.
• Prepare technical advice and reserve/valuation assessments using tools such as the Ogden Tables.
• Represent clients at mediations, joint settlement meetings and conferences.
• Mentor junior colleagues and build strong relationships with clients, counsel and experts.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or equivalent legal professional.
• Proven experience handling high‑value, multi‑track personal injury claims.
• Strong understanding of litigation practice, case law and insurance principles.
• Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and capacity to work under pressure.
• Confident client‑facing communication skills.
