Senior Associate – Structured Finance

About the role

This senior associate position sits within a technically strong structured finance team that advises on complex, bespoke transactions. The role involves working on layered capital structures, regulatory considerations and cross‑border elements, requiring a high level of intellectual rigour and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on complex structured debt financings across multiple asset classes.
• Execute securitisations, asset‑backed transactions and other structured funding arrangements.
• Lead loan‑portfolio, warehouse and platform financing projects.
• Structure and negotiate bespoke debt products and capital structures.
• Manage transaction workstreams from inception to completion, including cross‑border coordination.
• Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior lawyers.
• Liaise directly with clients, counterparties, arrangers and internal specialists.
• Contribute to transaction strategy, risk analysis and issue resolution throughout the deal lifecycle.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• Senior associate‑level experience in structured finance with a focus on structured debt.
• Background at a leading City or international finance practice.
• Strong technical understanding of securitisations and structured debt structures.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers and handling sophisticated matters.
• Commercially minded, detail‑driven and confident communicator with strong drafting abilities.
