Senior Audit Accountant – Hybrid, Sussex

About the role

We are looking for a qualified accountant to join a top‑30 UK accountancy practice as an Audit Senior. Based in Sussex with the flexibility to work from Horsham or Chichester, you will enjoy a hybrid model – three days in the office and two days from home – while supporting a diverse client portfolio across Sussex, Kent and London.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit teams and manage assignments from planning through to completion.
• Supervise, mentor and review the work of Audit Juniors.
• Collaborate with managers and partners to ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Prepare accounts and corporate tax returns.
• Run assignments efficiently, controlling cost and time.
• Liaise with clients, HMRC and partners during engagements.
• Ensure audit procedures meet regulatory and firm standards.
• Draft corporation and income tax computations.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA qualification (or part‑qualified with at least 2 years audit experience).
• Statutory audit experience in a public practice setting.
• Proficiency in ISA and UK GAAP.
• Experience in accounts compilation and drafting corporation tax computations.
• Strong client service, communication and organisational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Experience with CaseWare is desirable.
