Senior Audit Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Audit Executive to join our central Bristol accountancy practice. You will work independently, managing full audit engagements for a diverse client base and delivering high‑quality statutory and non‑statutory audit services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, perform and complete statutory audits of financial statements for companies and groups up to £100m turnover.
• Manage audit engagements end‑to‑end, including budgeting, deadline control and liaison with internal teams.
• Develop and maintain client relationships on‑site, acting as a trusted advisor and recommending business and process improvements.
• Deliver non‑statutory audit work, grant‑claim reporting, compliance engagements for charities, pension schemes and societies.
• Prepare non‑audit financial statements and support other accounting functions.
• Maintain audit compliance procedures, update audit manuals and contribute to internal quality reviews.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Minimum 3 years of audit experience.
• Experience across a broad range of industries, including owner‑managed businesses.
• Familiarity with industry‑specific accounting practices is advantageous.
• Knowledge of VAT reporting, management accounting and corporation tax is beneficial.
