Senior Audit Manager

About the role

Rutherford Briant is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join its growing Bristol office. This role provides genuine responsibility, regular client contact and a clear pathway to senior leadership within a supportive, people‑focused accountancy firm.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead audit assignments from initial planning through to completion.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the year.
• Manage, support and delegate work to junior team members.
• Review audit files to ensure work meets high‑quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with Partners and senior colleagues to deliver excellent client service.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, relationships and overall audit quality.
• Support the continued growth and development of the audit team.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
• Operating at Manager, Senior Manager or equivalent level.
• Proven experience leading audits and managing client relationships.
• Confident in reviewing work and supporting the development of others.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach.
