Senior AWS Engineer – Contract Role

About the role

This contract position is focused on resolving urgent and critical incidents across an AWS‑hosted estate. You will ensure the infrastructure remains secure, resilient and highly available while providing hands‑on support for operations, upgrades and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage critical situations for hosting and infrastructure operations.
• Act as the AWS and cloud‑infrastructure subject‑matter expert for client queries.
• Deliver hands‑on support for ongoing operations, problem‑solving, implementations and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enforce contract terms and best‑practice standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date service information and drive efficient resource management.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a similar AWS engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, WAF, IAM, Lambda, VPC, etc.).
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2022 administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) and hybrid workloads.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudWatch, PRTG, GitHub (code management and Actions).
• UK Government Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
• Relevant AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
