Senior Backend Engineer (Full Stack) - London

About the role

A fast-growing MarTech company, which helps DTC and e-commerce brands reach customers who ignore emails, retargeting ads and SMS, is looking for a Senior Full Stack (Backend) Engineer. The platform plugs directly into tools such as Shopify and Klaviyo and is already generating incremental revenue for top brands. The role is on-site, five days a week, in London.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable backend systems
• Architect infrastructure for job processing, analytics and event tracking
• Build internal tooling for rate limiting, quotas and authentication
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services
• Work closely with product, design and customer experience to ship features
• Own the work end to end: code, infrastructure, tests and monitoring

Required profile

• 4+ years building production-grade backend systems
• Experience with high-throughput systems or background job queues
• Passion for clean, maintainable code and a great developer experience

Required skills

• Strong Python and TypeScript
• AWS (ECS, SQS), Docker and GitHub Actions
• Postgres and Redis
• Nice to have: rate limiting or auth systems, analytics and attribution engineering (dbt, Snowflake), WYSIWYG editors, PDF generation and render jobs, SSR frameworks (Next.js, Remix)

Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 per year, full-time.
