Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js & TypeScript) – London

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing computer‑vision software company that has built a first‑of‑its‑kind product. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will help design, build and evolve the backend services that power enterprise‑grade applications for complex technical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design, implement and secure RESTful APIs.
• Write efficient PostgreSQL queries and optimise database performance.
• Identify, debug and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Create automated tests to ensure high code quality.
• Review peer code and champion engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design and other engineering teams to deliver new features.
• Continuously improve system reliability, scalability and maintainability.

Required profile

• Proven commercial experience in backend development.
• Strong focus on clean, maintainable and well‑tested code.
• Enjoy solving challenging engineering problems on modern platforms.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, product‑focused team.
