Senior Bid Writer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bid Writer to join a growing construction business at its Swindon depot. You will lead the creation of high‑quality responses to pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender opportunities, working closely with the bid management team.

Key responsibilities

• Produce written responses for PQQs and tenders, including unique content, references, case studies and CVs.
• Support the Head of Bid Management, Business Development Managers and Bid Managers throughout the bid lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with work‑winning processes and maintain a high standard of documentation.
• Coordinate briefings, kick‑off meetings and progress meetings.
• Edit, proofread and format submission documents, preparing graphics such as flow charts and organisational charts.
• Facilitate story‑boarding sessions with subject‑matter experts and manage content development.
• Maintain the Document Management System and assist with knowledge‑management activities.
• Work to tight deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bid writing, proposal management or a similar work‑winning environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and deliver complex documents.
• Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, engaging content.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
