Senior Bookkeeper and Payroller

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper and Payroller to join a growing accountancy practice in Newton Abbot. You will be responsible for delivering bookkeeping and payroll services up to extended trial balance, preparing VAT returns and supporting year‑end accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver payroll and bookkeeping services for a mixed client base.
• Prepare VAT returns and manage CIS submissions.
• Produce extended trial balances and assist with year‑end accounts preparation.
• Provide support to managers and directors, including client contact and development.
• Work flexibly across office and remote environments.

Required profile

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in an accountancy practice.
• Minimum three years of experience in bookkeeping, VAT, CIS, payroll or accounts preparation.
• Experience at senior bookkeeper, payroll or VAT assistant accountant level.

What we offer

• Salary between £26,000 and £35,000, dependent on experience.
