Senior Bridge Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Design team in Birmingham. The role is primarily remote with occasional visits to the office, delivering high‑quality highway bridge solutions from feasibility through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of highway bridge design, inspection and assessment across all project stages.
• Act as Lead Designer, coordinating technical inputs from multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs comply with client briefs, UK standards and quality management systems.
• Apply value engineering and innovative approaches to improve safety, buildability and efficiency.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, technicians and graduates.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (MICE / MIStructE) or progressing towards it.
• Proven experience delivering highway structures to UK standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid UK driving licence.
