Senior Building Manager

About the role

The client is a newly established property investment and asset management business looking to appoint a Senior Building Manager for a flagship Grade A commercial office building in Edinburgh undergoing a major refurbishment. You will own the day‑to‑day operation of the live building, act as the main occupier contact, and help shape operational standards for future portfolio assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of a live Grade A office building during a large‑scale refurbishment.
• Serve as the primary liaison for occupiers, maintaining strong relationships throughout the works.
• Collaborate with the project team to minimise disruption and ensure smooth building services.
• Lead post‑refurbishment mobilisation, including snagging, operational readiness and transition to business‑as‑usual.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and service partners to uphold operational standards.
• Monitor health, safety and statutory compliance across the site.
• Deliver an exceptional occupier experience during periods of change.
• Support the operational management of an expanding portfolio of premium commercial assets across Scotland.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational building management within a commercial office environment.
• Hands‑on experience managing live refurbishments or major capital works projects.
• Track record of delivering building mobilisation after refurbishment or fit‑out.
• Strong knowledge of contractor and service‑partner management.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder and occupier relationship skills.
• IOSH qualification (NEBOSH desirable).
