Senior Business Services Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Business Services professional to join our growing team in Leigh‑on‑Sea. You will support the Team Leader in delivering a full suite of finance services to small‑business clients, while developing your technical accounting expertise and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Team Leader with day‑to‑day management of the client portfolio.
• Arrange and attend client meetings both virtually and in person.
• Allocate work, review outputs and provide training for junior staff.
• Ensure timely delivery of bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts to high standards.
• Assist with the preparation and review of statutory filings and management accounts.
• Contribute to business development activities and help shape team strategy.
• Support the implementation of best‑practice processes, technology and automation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to enhance client services and add commercial value.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practice experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

• Salary between £35,000 and £45,000, dependent on experience.
