Senior Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join a well‑established manufacturer in the automotive and industrial supply chain. Based in Uxbridge, you will work on‑site within a small, experienced team reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end buying process, including purchase order placement, supplier negotiations and contracting.
• Review and optimise the existing supplier base to improve value and resilience.
• Engage with global suppliers, many of which are offshore, and undertake occasional travel.
• Support the development of procurement strategies in an environment without formal procurement or legal structures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an industrial, OEM or manufacturing setting, preferably supplying to a clear end‑customer.
• Comfortable operating across tactical and strategic buying activities.
• Ability to work hands‑on without line‑management responsibilities.

Required skills

• Experience managing global suppliers and overseas sourcing.
• Strong understanding of purchase order management, negotiation and contracting.
• CIPS qualification desirable, though extensive industry experience is also valued.
