Senior C++ Engineer

About the role

Ncounter is looking for senior C++ engineers to join a specialist engineering team delivering high‑performance software for the UK national security sector. The role focuses on modern C++, Linux, and ultra‑low latency systems that support mission‑critical decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise high‑performance C++ applications on Linux.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate Rust, Go or Python components.
• Maintain and enhance containerised deployments using Docker, Helm and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and ensure robust testing and monitoring.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Current eDV clearance or active DV clearance with eligibility for eDV sponsorship.
• Willingness to work onsite in the West of England 4‑5 days a week.
• Strong ownership mindset and passion for solving complex technical problems.
