Senior Care Assistant

About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at Darcy House Care Home, you will lead a team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care for our residents. You will ensure the smooth running of each shift, overseeing medication and monitoring wellbeing while providing hands‑on support.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver high‑quality resident care.
• Ensure the shift runs smoothly, with care well organised and consistent.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Respond promptly to changes in residents’ conditions.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure clear communication with families and healthcare professionals.
• Work alternate weekends as part of the rota.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum); Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards it.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.

What we offer

• £13.71 per hour (enhanced overtime rate).
• 36‑hour permanent contract.
• Paid DBS check, pension scheme, uniform provided.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time basis).
