Senior Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

The Senior Care Assistant will lead a shift team in delivering safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care to residents of Lighthouse Lodge Care Home. You will ensure the smooth operation of the shift, oversee medication administration and respond promptly to any changes in residents' wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support care assistants to provide consistent, high‑standard care.
• Oversee medication administration and ensure competency.
• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, intervening when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date care records.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure the shift runs efficiently, adhering to schedules and policies.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable or willingness to progress).
• Completed medication administration training with competency.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is advantageous.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Caring, compassionate and professional attitude.
• Availability to work alternate weekends.

• Hourly rate of £13.71 for a 47‑hour week.
