Senior Care Assistant – Residential Nursing Home

About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at Buchanan House Care Home, you will lead a team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents in a purpose‑built facility offering residential, nursing, dementia and respite services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations, ensuring care is organised, consistent and meets high standards.
• Provide hands‑on care while supervising medication administration and monitoring residents’ wellbeing.
• Respond promptly to changes in residents’ conditions to maintain safe and appropriate care.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable) or willingness to work towards it.
• Medication administration training with competency.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Caring, compassionate and professional attitude.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.50.
• Full‑time contracted hours with paid PVG, pension and uniform.
